Still Climbing steps in Amalfi

Today there are too many tourists in Amalfi! They are being herded around on walking tours following Italian flags on sticks and being crammed onto ferries to tour the coastline and see adjoining towns. This is not for us. Instead we have taken up climbing steps. A much better option! Climbing steps takes you on many scenic journeys past rustic houses and terraced lemons.

You know it's hilly when donkeys are the main method of transporting fertiliser and huge gas bottles to remote houses.
I have been climbing steps for more than 2 hours today which meant I was free to indulge in a Lemoncello and rich chocolate gelato. Speaking of food. We had a lovely dinner looking over the sea last night. We both enjoyed mussels and vongole in a garlic sauce as an entree. Tony ordered a mussel pasta as a main. One would think he loves mussels! Not necessarily true, it's just that reading Italian menus is still a challenge and some meals are complete surprises.
I had a delicious lemon and shrimp pasta. Given that we are in the heart of lemon country I thought this might be a good option. There was lots of thinly sliced fresh lemon rind in a silky sauce but I am stumped on the other ingredients.
Speaking of surprises. My coffee this morning was another surprise. After seeing someone with what looked like an Australian late yesterday while I was having my very ordinary cappuccino, I decided that my next coffee order would be a late. So I ordered one, only to be served what appeared to be a black Americana coffee with a jug of hot milk. I can't win with coffee! It wasn't too bad though, maybe even a 7/10.
Will just finish off by including a couple of happy holiday snaps in Amalfi.

Cheers!
