Hello Venice

Whilst we had a lovely slow start to our morning in Amalfi, the trip to Venice seemed to take forever. Our transfer collected us at Amalfi at 11.30am and we arrived at our Hotel in Venice at 7.15pm. Airports are such a time waster. We've got the airport routine all sorted and we are no longer 'entertained' by airport souvenirs so the time drags.

After the flight, we were on our own to 'transfer' ourselves to our hotel. This meant navigating the public transport system which just happens to be a series of water ferries.

Lucky for us we got the right 'line' but it still took 90 minutes until we landed at San Marco. Then we had to find our hotel. Another puzzle!  After rattling along the cobblestones with our 4 wheel drive suitcases and dragging them up bridges (please note more steps were involved here), we made it! Here is the proof: the Queen of Sheba:

We needed to keep our night simple so we had a quick dinner and enjoyed the sights.

With only one 'real' day tomorrow, we expect to do some serious walking. The only problem is I am still aching from the steps of Amalfi!
Until tomorrow x
