Gluten Free Eating
With a family member recently diagnosed with Coeliac Disease I feel compelled to share an amazing food find in downtown Lilydale: Foods With Benefits. This is a cafe by day and a restaurant by night and caters for Coeliacs and many other folk with special dietary meals. If I didn't know I'd swear I was eating in a 'normal' restaurant. The food was first class: beautifully presented, imaginative and delicious. We tried the seafood basket (with perfectly cooked scallops), chicken parmigiana (thick juicy, Tender chicken) and lamb fillet with Moroccan couscous (of the corn variety). This is a funky cafe/restaurant with 'real' timber tables and comfy, high backed chairs and cute coloured bottle lanterns. Will we go back? Of course! The lovely owner/chef is Coeliac too and can't do enough to ensure your meal is perfect. She deserves to be busy. As a non-coeliac I loved the food but for coeliacs what a joy to be able to eat out without first studying the menu and asking a barrage of questions.Link to Foods With benefits Facebook page
